Why don't people take the injuries of Andrew Bynum and other Lakers into consideration and say

Bynum played only 35 games, Gasol played only 27 games and kobe played every game this year and has kept this team afloat and yet why do people keep saying he's not MVP

Lets see...His team has a higher record than Paul

Kobe's team hasn't been healthy all year and still had a higher record than Paul's team...Paul's team has been healthy all year. Take away Chandler for half a season and lets see how he does

Kobe still puts up jaw dropping stats

Kobe has beaten every elite team in the NBA

Kobe has helped his 4th youngest team become the 2nd best road team in the NBA

Kobe has one border line all star in Pau Gasol while Paul has one legit premier power forward in David West and a borderline all star in Tyson Chandler

He played with stone hands Kwame brown for half a season who is a major liabilty

ltes not forget the dislocated pinky that he's playing with as well

so then why do people keep trying to discredit him?

he has the stats, the team record, beating good teams...not enough?

Why don't people take the injuries of Andrew Bynum and other Lakers into consideration and say Kobe is not MVPnba playoff

REVISED!!!

ARE you kidding me?!?! Going off stats ALONE, David West isnt even in the top 5. Boozer, Duncan, Garnett, Al Jefferson (vastly under rated), Chris Bosh AND Dirk Nowitski all have better stats. And that's NOT including Dwight Howard and Amare Stoudamire who are ORIGINALLY and naturally Power Forwards but due to changed on their teams, are forced to play center. So stop throwing stats when anyone can do it. West averaged 20 and 9 which are good numbers but 3rd best, get your head out of your ***, hasnt done it long enough to claim that honor. Especially when Gasol averages 19 and 8 this season and odom averaged 14 and damn there 11. which is conservative since we both know he can put up WELL over that in terms of scoring. MY BAD ON THE PAU GASOL UPSET BID SPURS COMMENT, I can't be sure who exactly I was talking about BUT he was an all-star and ALWAYS put up the numbers david west has put up.

And are you suggesting that Chandler is JUST better because of Byron Scott? Really bro..?? Look at his career stats, did you say somewhat of an all-star? this year is the FIRST YEAR he has ever averaged double digit scoring.. and he has 11!!!! The rebounding and blocks have always been there but he now gets exposure cause he is on a winning team and does all the little things teams need to win but an all-star? hardly? If 11 and 12 makes you an all-star, than what's Odom who puts up 14 and 11? You can throw stats all you want you petty Laker fan, and make some good arguements, i gave you that earlier, but in the end, you are like the MILLIONS of band wagon, used to be Jordan fan loving, closed minded idiots who don't budge an inch and are, well... close minded. He is the best player in basketabll but get off his balls for 2 seconds and respect what Paul did for his team this year. If I told you BEFORE THE SEASON to rate where Kobe Bryant/ Pau Gasol and lamar Odom take you, you would say TOP OF THE WEST, I wouldnt, i would have prolly said the Spurs still, but where would you have put the Hornets BEFORE the season started? Not 2 I bet, Chris paul has done a lot with what I call a little but go ahead and over exaggerate the Hornets to make your Kobe defense for legit, I'm not argueing with you about Kobe THE MVP, just a little irked you gae NO PROPS to CP3 who had done more in his first 3 seasons than a lot of point guards do in their careers. And tuck in that Jordan jersey ya jackass, its hangin out the back of your new kobe one.

Why don't people take the injuries of Andrew Bynum and other Lakers into consideration and say Kobe is not MVPnba stats ,nba teams

I dont like the fact that the MVP became a "team" award. Nobody considered Magic having HOF teammates when he won he's MVP, not even Bird's. If you consider Magic having Kareem and Worthy, Bird having McHale and Parish then these two wont win their MVPs. Kobe is the best individual in the sport and he deserves to be MVP, that's all you need to consider.
Why do Kobe fans have to consistently post this crap. You guys think that no one thinks Kobe deserves it. Guess what?....It doesn't matter who got the MVP. The haters will come out of the wood work. So stop feeling sorry for Kobe because some people don't agree that he is an MVP.
Not to worrry. Some people will never like Kobe. They'll find every dirt they think Kobe has - that's what they're good at.
Good statement, fact there's some peopel hate kobe no matter what he do.
whatever they say KOBE is still the BEST and is the MVP!!!
Yeah mate! Tell them that!
...haters...plain and simple...
becouse hes kobe
I am not saying that Kobe doesn't deserve the MVP trophy but all the Laker fans need to get their heads out of each others @sses and shut the F*ck up. He is getting the trophy tonight.

Wow what a better record than Paul, one game. Lakers haven't been healthy all year is waste of breath, the Rockets played most of the year without either T-mac or Yao and almost won the West. They pretty much got Gasol for nothing. And when I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that the Celtics would beat the Laker in the finals if they met, Laker fans were coming out of the wood work to tell me how great the Laker big 3 was Kobe/gasol/odam and how things would be different when Bynum comes back.

I don't think CP3 deserves it only because he has not been in the league as long as Kobe. He still needs to tack on some more experience before they call him League MVP. Finals MVP maybe but not league. Plus he is the point guard for his team so is expected to lead his team not be the scorer for his team.

That is all I have to say, Congrats Kobe and Lakers fans STFU!!!!!!!!
KOBE GET IT... he hes was second in the stats category 2nd in the record ...and he did beat good teams and most talented i might add

KG was far behind in the stats had the best record in the nba tho....beat good teams

Lebron was first in the stats and far behind in the team records....with the mvp candidates

CP3 had a great season and was close with kobe i dunno id say kobe had better stats..Also cp3 finished 2 in the west behing the lakers ie Kobe seeing with injuries meanwhile still had a good bench and to end this kobe has deserved the MVP for like 3 years now and people who say that dosetn matter......Kobe will go down as one of the greats and how will that look on the nba for not giving kobe an mvp award while he had one of the best teams and was one of the best players? and to end all of this im a denver nuggets fan lol and i watched firsthand kobe rip apart my nuggets with sum help from gasol in game one lol
I would honestly say that Chris Paul deserves it, as he's taken a team that wasn't very good and helped them one of the best records in the West.

Even if you discount Bynum and Gasol, which I wouldn't ,you still have to factor in Lamar Odom, who also carried the team during stretches, and Fisher (pretty sure i spelled the name wrong).

However I do agree that Kobe deserved one and the fact that somehow during his entire career he has never won one is baffling.

But if he were looking at this year alone at impact and value I'd have to say Chris Paul.
First and foremost because we Laker fans have a propensity for being obnoxious about our support of Kobe Bryant. Have you noticed that the only reasonable response to factual evidence is "Kobe hater"? How unintelligent is that?!

This is a regular season award so any argument about the playoffs is irrelevant. If you DO take the playoffs into consideration, CP3 is the clear winner. Eliminated the Mavs and now two up on the dynastic Spurs? He'd be your hands down MVP if that was even remotely relevant.

You can't say Kobe wins it because if his stats. That argument is simply inaccurate. If stats is what decides this award, then keep these in mind:

- Chris Paul beat Kobe in the following categories: Assts, Steals, Double-Doubles, FG%, FT%, steals and had fewer turnovers.

- Lebron beat Kobe in Pts, Assts, Rebs, Dub-Dubs and they tied in steals.

One borderline all-star? Pau Gasol was the '02 NBA Rookie of the Year, '06 FIBA World Championship MVP, and '06 NBA all-star. Derek Fisher lead the Jazz to the finals! Did you forget or did you stop tuning in after the Lakers went out in the first round? Just because he isn't an all-star, that doesn't mean he isn't quality. Lamar Odom was on the All-Rookie First Team and tore it up all-star weekend.

If you're going to make statements, shouldn't you at least check to see if they're true first? Nobody is trying to discredit him. We're discrediting YOU for spouting false information.

Since stats aren't the deciding factor and neither is being the best player on the best team (Garnett), what is this about? It's about flair. Kobe Bryant is one of the top 3 entertainers in the game. He'll elevate and knock down jumpers with 2 people in his face, 1 on his back, and another biting him in the ankle. Unfortunately, that's not the basis for crowning an MVP.

I could do this all night as I kill time before the game starts but let me leave you with this: If it was true and deserved, why is it that no two people can nail down why it happened? Why is it the reasons people come up with are easily dismissed as false when countered with facts?

The voters must be on the BCS system for MVP voting. Kobe's high seed must've pushed him over the top of all the players that played better than he did.

(Whew, made it through without mentioning his divisive "leadership style" ... d'oh!)
